Trial plan to quit smoking: The Dangers of Smoking
Introduction
The Trial plan to quit smoking is one of the nicotine cessation plans developed by Quittercheck to help nicotine users quit the habit permanently. The plan runs for 7 days during which you get to have a general feel of the program – including the testing process – so you can decide if Quittercheck is the right cessation method for you.
Trial plan to quit smoking: The Dangers of Smoking
It’s no secret that smoking has devastating effects on human health. So devastating in fact, that it has been cited as the leading cause of preventable death in the world. Stew over that for a minute…
This shouldn’t come as a surprise really, considering smoking has a detrimental effect on virtually every organ in the human body. Tobacco cigarettes are attributed to a long list of cancers, a count the National Cancer Institute places at 16, including cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, liver, pancreas, stomach, and more. Of all lung cancer cases, almost 90% are linked to cigarette smoking, according to the American Lung Association.
And it’s not just cancer. Smoking damages your blood vessels and significantly increases the risk of heart and circulatory diseases, causes wrinkles and results in unhealthy looking skin, in addition to causing countless other illnesses and conditions
Put simply, quitting smoking is the best decision one can make for their health. But if only it were that easy…
Quitting cigarettes is an arduous affair, which is largely down to the addictive effects of nicotine, one of the hardest substances to quit available to man. What compounds matters further is the fact that addiction is both a physical and psychological habit, but most people (and quitting aids and programs) only address the physical aspect.
It is this bridge that Quittercheck – an app designed to support you through your quitting journey – seeks to address.
Trial quit-smoking plan: How much do you want to quit?
Quittercheck is the first cessation program that encourages you to plan your nicotine-withdrawal journey and earn money through quitting. But it also comes with a caveat: you lose money if you smoke or use nicotine.
The free and trial versions notwithstanding, the program is available in three plans: a 12-week plan, a 16-week plan, and a 22-week smoking cessation plan.
The trial quit-smoking plan is a plan that runs for 7 days and is designed to give you a taste of the Quittercheck program and what it’s all about. Available for download on AppStore and Google Playstore, the trial plan to quit smoking is practically free. The only money you’ll be parting with is $2 to cater for 1 Quittercheck test, 1 practice test, and 1 test review, which come with the plan.
Trial plan to quit smoking: How does it work?
Once you make the big decision to cut out cigarettes from your life, the trial plan should be a good place to start if you’re evaluating the smoking cessation tools available out there. And when you get started, it won’t take you long to realize why most ex-smokers consider Quittercheck the most effective method to quit smoking.
The trial cessation plan gives you an opportunity to try our specially-designed test process so you can get a good handle of how the Quittercheck program works. As much as the program has been established to be super effective in helping nicotine users quit, however, obviously it’s not a magic wand that will wash away your cravings overnight: it will require some bit of time and effort on your part. Which is a small price to pay really, looking at the bigger picture.
Speaking of price, barring the $2 that goes towards covering costs for the trial plan to quit smoking, you won’t incur any additional charges like you do with the paid plans should you fail your nicotine test. Trial plan participants do not receive rewards after passing the test either.
Think of this as a weekly challenge – a fun challenge – that affords you the opportunity to quit smoking for good. After subscribing to the trial plan, the onus is on you to withdraw all your smoking triggers and stay nicotine-free for a week.
You’ll need to conduct a nicotine test during the trial, and this is done using the test kit that will be mailed to you as part of your subscription. You’ll get a notification in the Quittercheck app about your test day, following which you’ll then have 24 hours to submit your nicotine test. Don’t worry, it’s a pretty straightforward process; plus, the package comes with instructions.
Trial plan to quit smoking in a week
The testing process itself takes only about 5 minutes. For transparency purposes, you must record the test on video in the app, which you’ll then submit to us. The entire testing process – including receiving your results – takes up to 15 minutes tops.
For test day;
- Make sure your phone camera is stable
- Make sure you’re clearly visible in your phone camera
- Before starting, ensure your mouth is free of any liquid or any other substances
- Remove the test and test swab and show it to the camera to confirm the package wasn’t tampered with
- Swab around your mouth for about 2 minutes
- Put the swab into the test cube provided and place it in front of the camera
- Submit your test for review
- After the review is complete, you’ll receive your results through the app
The one-week trial quit-smoking plan allows for only 1 test review – on the house!
Passing the test means you’ve made the first giant step towards quitting smoking. After all, the first week (and the second) is the most trying period during the quitting journey.
Unlike the trial plan, participants subscribed to any of the other premium plans receive weekly rewards for passing their nicotine test. This fosters encouragement. However, the trial plan is a good way to evaluate if you’re up for the challenge ahead as you also feel out the Quittercheck program to determine if it’s right for you.
The road towards complete nicotine withdrawal is paved with challenges and temptations aplenty. It’s very easy to relapse, especially during the first week, which is why many people have found it difficult to cross that bridge.
This is why we advise to approach this process with deliberate intention, the hope being that you’ve already made peace with your emotions as pertains to cigarette smoking and what got you into the habit in the first place. The Resource part of our program will guide you through this process.
So, once you’ve tried the trial quit-smoking plan and decided this program is the cessation tool for you, you can proceed to choose a 12-, 16-, or 22-week quit-smoking plan depending on your addiction level. It’s the next step towards achieving a tobacco-free lifestyle and reaping the benefits that come with it.
Look, assuming you’ve gone through the weekly trial plan to quit smoking and failed your first test, it doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Neither should you give up. The decision to quit smoking is one of the best you’ll ever make as far as your health is concerned, but if you’ve been smoking for years or decades, the journey won’t be a Sunday picnic.
It’s good to understand that – albeit not to use it as a convenient excuse for when you lapse – because overcoming nicotine cravings and staving off triggers will be tough. But it doesn’t mean it’s impossible. Quite on the contrary. As former heavy smokers who have been there ourselves, we will offer you the support and the guidance you need during what’s likely to be a challenging nicotine quitting journey.
You’ve made an important step by setting your goal, and taken the effort to break free from smoking. Small setbacks are just part of the journey. This trial plan to become nicotine-free is intended to show you how to use our specially-designed testing kit and give you a feel of the overall Quittercheck system. The pledge amount isn’t charged to your card when participating in the trial plan.
If you’re really committed to quitting smoking for good, then you can choose a 12-, 16-, or 22-week smoking quit plan and we will give you all the help and support you need to do so successfully.
Regarding the efficacy of our system, the Quittercheck concept has proved very successful with early users. Founded on proven scientific methods, the program is based on positive reinforcement and loss aversion theory.
Positive reinforcement seeks to reward good habits, and this we do by sending you rewards in the form of cash, lessons, and weekly encouragement.
Loss aversion theory, on the other hand, is based on the proven notion that people tend to have a stronger response to losses than they do towards gains or rewards. That means if you stake some money in the form of the pledge amount you set in our program, chances are you’ll be less predisposed to cave in to nicotine cravings. Trust us, the power that has on you is incredible(!) as you’re bound to realize.
We’ll guide and support you in your tobacco-free journey, and we’ll constantly share nuggets to help you resist the urge to smoke. On your part, we’ll need you to follow the advice, do the tests properly, and resist the temptation for “just one” cigarette.
A few things you might want to try to keep those cravings at bay include the following:
- avoid your smoking triggers
- engage in some physical activities
- practice meditation or other relaxation techniques
- stop thinking “just one cigarette” won’t hurt
- avoid people who smoke (at least for some time) and smoking breaks
- chew something instead of lighting up (we’ve developed a special device, Venquil, that helps curb cravings)
- tell your relatives and friends that you’re quitting smoking to increase accountability
- get support and reinforcement from a support group (we can help you)
- remind yourself of the benefits of quitting smoking; the reason you need to do this
Our trial plan to quit smoking is intended to help you make the first step towards a nicotine-free healthy lifestyle and get you accustomed to our testing system. Quitting smoking isn’t easy, but with our help and support, you’ll challenge yourself to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the Trial Plan to Quit Smoking?
The trial plan to quit smoking is a one-week trial period that introduces you to the Quittercheck quitting program. It opens you to the set of features available on the Quittercheck premium plans, including the behavioral therapy aspect which is a central part of the program.
The trial plan kit comes with 1 Quittercheck test and 1 practice test, and it provides a single test review; which explains the $2 levied on this plan.
What is the most effective method to quit smoking?
The most effective method to quit smoking is one that addresses both the physical and psychological aspects of smoking and nicotine addiction. Methods that only look at nicotine addiction from a one-dimensional perspective can only get you so far. This is why many NRT (nicotine replacement therapy) tools like nicotine gum, patches, lozenges and all those others have proven ineffective for most people. Vaping may help you quit smoking, but the downside is that it still keeps you hooked on nicotine.
This is the gap the Quittercheck program seeks to address, and it has done so with great effect.
What are the stages to quit smoking?
Generally, there are 5 main stages involved in the quitting smoking process:
- Precontemplation – the stage where you still feel the “benefits” of smoking outweigh the reasons to quit
- Contemplation – you’re thinking about quitting but not ready to quit yet
- Preparation – you’ve made up your mind to quit smoking and are getting ready to quit
- Action – the stage where you start making efforts to quit smoking in earnest
- Maintenance and relapse – you’re a former smoker at this stage, and ideally have developed effective coping strategies
